Seeing the Lore Podcast!

On Wednesday I got to see the popular podcast Lore live! It was a night of scary stories and spine-chilling tales that were hair-raising. Though I cannot tell any of the stories I can tell you the experience.

Seeing this podcast (which is one of my personal favorites) was an unbelievable experience. Having Aaron Mahnke right in front of me was incredible and the way he dramatized the actions gave the stories extra flair. Having piano legend Chad Lawson there also added to the suspense of the stories, but nothing compared to how great it was to meet them.

After the show I got to meet the great men behind this spine-chilling podcast.  They were very friendly and very happy to take a photo with my dad and I. They also signed a photo of Mahnke that was very detailed. To meet these two wonderful people was an unforgettable experience.

Though a spine-tickling podcast might not seem inspirational to you, to me it is. After listening to my first couple of episodes I knew that horror was going to be something big for me. I first wrote a report about one of the episodes, presented to my class and it was a huge success. Then I was inspired to write my own horror story that was inspired by things I have seen and heard. I later turned it in to my teacher and I was surprised to see how high of a score I got. Writing has really changed me.

Seeing the this podcast live was an awesome experience that couldn’t have happened if it weren’t for my dad. Without him this blog and a lot that I write about would not be possible without him. Thanks Dad!

My Experience being in Hamilton!

This past week I got to be in Hamilton! It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I learned so much more about playing your part despite difficulties and many other valuable theatre skills. Today I will share with you my experience being the Broadway smash-hit Hamilton.

I got to play the part of the daring Hercules Mulligan and being completely honest, it was pretty hard. The talented Okieriete Onaodowan originated the role of Mulligan and I did my best to try and mirror some of the things he did (put more emphasis on the vowels, talk louder etc.) which made playing the part so much easier. Learning the songs was easy yet hard. I had already memorized the songs but I had never have to perform them in front of an audience. Being on stage is nerve-racking and fun, but I knew that my friends had my back.

Over the course of the week I made some great friends. We had such a great experience together and we bonded over a love of Hamilton and theater in general. Whether it was jokes or just a chat, I cherished every moment of it. During blackout we would run up and talk about how great they did or how great they would be and we would get in to places and do a full dance with huge smiles on our faces.

So many great memories were made this past week and it was an overall incredible experience. From making new friends to performing a musical I love, it was spectacular.hercules mulligan

Inspirational Spotlight: Adam Driver

“Excellence is going the extra mile” -Joyce Meyer. Is going the extra mile always so hard? This a question we are often faced with from time to time, but for Actor and Veteran Adam Driver, this is a no-brainer. Driver knows that it can be hard to be in a military family, especially financially . So when the “Star Wars” actor heard 21 year old Hayley Williams’ story he knew what had to be done.

In a letter to the non-profit organization known as Folds of Honor, young Williams wrote about how she was in medical school studying to be a nurse. She wanted to help people like her father, John Williams. Williams served in the army until he hurt his back, just before deployment for Operation Desert Storm. With her father unable to work, getting through Medical School seemed impossible to Hayley. This is where Driver comes in. Adam was injured just before Operation Desert Storm and knew how it felt. So with the help of Budweiser and Fold of Honor Adam Driver drove to the Williams’ house in Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania and presented Hayley with a scholarship so she could attend her final year of Medical School. The overjoyed Williams broke out into tears and said said quote “It means everything” to her.adam driver hug 6

Though going the extra mile may be hard, it may be the best choice you will ever make.

The Bristol Renaissance Faire!

Huzzah Lords and Ladies! This weekend I went to the Bristol Renaissance Faire! My experience was nothing short of amazing. The shows were wonderful, the food was delicious and the costumes as realistic as ever! The overall experience was remarkable. Now, let’s get down to the details.

The Adam Crack Show

This weekend I saw three shows at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. The first one I saw was the Adam Crack Fire Whip Show performed by Adam Crack. This was a show that is unforgettable. From whipping a can of soda in half to setting a whip on fire, it was an absolute thrill! What I also liked was that Crack added comedy to the act which made it all the more amazing! Overall a spectacular show!Enlight265

The Welcoming of the Queen

The second show I saw was the Welcoming of the Queen of England. With an entire military escort and too many Lords and Ladies to count, the welcoming was spectacular. Decked out in full costume, the Queen could have past for the real Queen Elizabeth I. With a crashing by the Ambassador to Spain and a whole ordeal with him made the act funny and entertaining.  A knighting ceremony made the whole show seem more realistic. The acting was stunning and went on without a hitch. In general, the show was absolutely splendid!Enlight281

Barely Balanced Comedy and Acrobatics

The third show I saw was the Barely Balanced Comedy and Acrobatics. With death defying tricks and funny jokes, it is  pretty hard to not like the show. The performers (Margret, Cameron and James) did  a sensational job. Even the craziest stunts were performed perfectly. Truly a fantastic show!DSC_0489 1
